Itinerary

Arrive in Lijiang from your home city. Enjoy 24-hour free airport pickup and check into a selected hotel near the old town. Free time to explore Lijiang Old Town: the Big Waterwheel, Sifang Street, and bar street, or climb Lion Hill's Wangu Tower for a panoramic view.

Drive north along the Jinsha River, first witnessing the thundering rapids of Tiger Leaping Gorge, then Baishuitai's layer-cake travertine terraces. Arrive in Shangri-La in the evening and stay near Dukezong Old Town.

Visit Songzanlin Monastery in the early morning, Yunnan's largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery with golden roofs and morning bells. Return to Lijiang in the afternoon and enjoy free time.

Head south along the tea-horse road to Shaxi Ancient Town - Sideng Street, the ancient stage, and Xingjiao Temple. In the afternoon, reach Dali and cycle the Erhai Lake eco-corridor at sunset.

Drive to Lugu Lake and circle it in the afternoon: Lige Peninsula, Lovers' Beach, Cao Hai reed marsh, and the Wedding Bridge, hearing the Mosuo people's love customs. In the evening, enjoy an optional Mosuo bonfire party.

Sail a Mosuo pig-trough boat across the lake at dawn and visit Liwubi Island with its fluttering prayer flags. After lunch, return to Lijiang and check in.

After breakfast, transfer to the airport according to your flight. An afternoon flight is recommended so you can shop for souvenirs in the morning. End of the 7-day NW Yunnan classic journey.
