Itinerary

Arrive in Jinghong with 24-hour free airport pickup. In the afternoon, visit Manting Park - the Dai king's royal garden with the White Pagoda and Release Lake. At night, stroll the Gaozhuang Night Market and taste pounded chicken feet, Lao coffee, and other Southeast Asian flavors.

Enter China's largest tropical botanical garden to see parashorea, giant water lilies, and the 'tree of death'. In the afternoon, trek lightly into the rainforest with your guide, listening to birdsong and learning to identify wild herbs and fruits.

Head to Wild Elephant Valley and search for wild Asian elephants along elevated boardwalks. Watch the elephant school show and feed the gentle giants up close. Optional cable car ride over the rainforest.

Enter the Dai Ethnic Garden made up of five Dai villages, visit traditional bamboo houses and Man Chun Man Buddhist Temple, then join the afternoon water-splashing carnival.

After breakfast, enjoy free time and transfer to the airport according to your flight. If time allows, visit Gaozhuang or Manting Park once more. End of the 5-day rainforest journey.
